GENERAL:
This field had the original HID lighting system that was installed and put
into operation in 1996. This consisted of 708 1500W fixtures and a failing
lighting control system that was only able to operate from a single location.
DESIGN:
Sellers and Sons hired a local electrical engineering firm and assisted with a
new electrical design based on the proposed new LED lighting and control
system as designed by Musco Lighting.
DEMO:
Sellers and Sons removed all existing lighting fixtures from the catwalks
along with all existing wiring and controls. This task was time consuming as
each fixture had to be lowered individually approximately120 feet.
NEW INSTALLATION:
Sellers and Sons took delivery of and assembled the new LED lighting system and using a 125 ton crane raised the new lighting assemblies to the catwalks and mounted per the manufactures design. The new LED system consists of 482 – 1400W and lower LED fixtures. This included Multi-Colored “RGBW” LED fixtures.
ELECTRICAL / CONTROLS:
Sellers and Sons provided and installed new gutter system to house all new electrical circuits and new DMX control wiring. New circuit breakers and wire was provided and installed for all new light fixtures. New complete control system wiring was provided witch included Fiber and CAT5 cable.
Touchscreen controllers were provided and installed in 4 separate locations in stadium. The new control system allows for dimming of all fixtures and also show scenarios utilizing the multi-colored fixtures.
SUMMARY:
The new LED lighting system provides approximately 48% power savings and the convenience of multiple control locations including through an app on a smart phone. The field light levels are 30% higher than the existing lighting and now meet or exceed MLB requirements.
